this page explains what roaming expenses stores and how we use it. it is written in plain language. it is not legal advice.
what we store
- your name, email, and optional profile photo.
- the money records you enter — accounts, categories, transactions, budgets, recurring items, and notes.
- receipt photos and other files you upload.
- basic sign-in details so we can keep your session secure (for example, that you signed in from a certain device).
- if you turn on notifications, the info needed to send them.
- if you share a ledger, who you invited and whether they accepted.
- if you sign in with google, the details needed for that sign-in.
how we use it
we use your data to run the app — so you can track spending, scan receipts, get optional reminders, and share a ledger when you choose to. when you scan a receipt, we use the photo to suggest details like merchant, date, and amount. always check those suggestions before saving. we may also look at error reports (and sometimes a short recording of what went wrong) so we can fix bugs.
who else sees it
we use trusted providers to host the app, store files, send sign-up and password-reset emails, and help us find bugs. if you sign in with google, google is involved in that sign-in. if you invite someone to share a ledger, they can see the shared accounts and transactions.
what we do not do
- we do not ask for your bank login details.
- we do not sell your data.
- we do not show ads or use ad trackers.
cookies
we use a sign-in cookie so you stay logged in. we do not use advertising cookies.
deleting your account
there is no delete button in the app yet. email support@roamingexpenses.com and we will help remove your account and related data.
